Welcome to the Hotel Mathiesn in Obergurgl!
Enjoy a holiday in our family-run three-star hotel in Obergurgl, at an elevation of 1,930 metres above sea level. We provide an exceptional service and will always make you feel at home.
Location:
Our hotel Mathiesn is in the village centre, close by the two main feeder lifts for the whole ski area. You can leave the hotel on your skis while our ski cellar is directly on your return route.
We are only 50 metres from the ski school. Also in the immediate vicinity are the ski school office, the meeting point for children and adults and the 'Bobo' children's area with the 'Bobo' kindergarten. Your vehicle can take a holiday too while you are here as you can do everything on foot.

You will find our reception area and lounge on the ground floor, where the open fire helps create a comfortable, homely atmosphere on cold winter days.
We have a total of 27 rooms (all with flat screen cable TVs and WLAN connection); 17 of our rooms are particularly well appointed:
with fittings made of pine from local forests, generously proportioned baths, underfloor heating and balconies with breathtaking views of the stunning surrounding peaks.
The ski and ski boot storage cellar (with heated boot stand) is in the basement.
Sauna complex:
Do something for those aching muscles after a strenuous day of skiing and relax in our sauna complex.
The complex includes a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a picturesque Turkish steam bath (with its hints of Eastern opulence) and a solarium. There is also a rest room where you can linger and recuperate.
Our 'Kinderparadies' - a paradise for children:
We have a children's playroom offering a wealth of fun options for our younger guests: there are table football, a giant memory game, over-sized Lego bricks, a magnetic wall - but the most popular attraction is the indoor climbing wall for kids.
We have three different dining and refreshment areas.
Located in the front of the hotel is the 'Grüner Stube' à la carte restaurant serving meals and coffees. Here you can discover Tyrolean specialities or enjoy a light snack. Or, after a day on the piste, wind down on our magnificent sun terrace where you can watch other skiers in action.
Then there is our rustic and comfortable aprés ski bar shaped like a giant wooden barrel - not all too easy to miss on your way back from the slopes as you can hardly avoid it on your direct route from piste to ski cellar.
